When I was a child, I love mechanical machines. So when I saw Robert Goddard (an American engineer, professor, physicist, and inventor) who created mechanical liquid-fueled rockets, I was instantaneously obsessed with any mechanical rockets.
Joy Happy Happy! :)
By the time I was in High school in Alexandria, Virginia, I was making large homemade experimental sugar
rockets
with my own pyrotechnic blend of fuel, oxidizer, and additives, without accidents, explosions, or "teachable moments..." —driven by the goal of breaking the
sound barrier
(Mach 1).
Note:
This was my experimental sugar rocket that I brought to the science fair, which unfortunately was
a "Live" Rocket that contained about
12.8 lbs
of
pyrotechnic
(explosive) Rocket motor. Ooooppps.... :o
Modern depleted uranium (DU) tank rounds, are a byproduct of the process used to enrich uranium for nuclear power and weapons.
